St. Claire Valentine's Gala

Last Saturday, I planned two events in one day (yeah, I know...what was I thinking?) and the second one was St. Claire's Valentine Gala which was at the Conference Center this year. They had a good turnout and the place looked fabulous. As part of my contract I did photos of all the guest and took lots of candid photos throughout the event.

It was a really fun evening and I am already hoping I get invited back next year! They had a band from Frankfort and the event was catered by an highly efficient company from Lexington.

The St. Claire pictures will be ready on Monday and will be available to pickup from the Empact group. I will also be hosting these awesome photos on a website so anyone from the event can order additional prints at discounted rates! Please send me your email address if you would like to be able to view these photos.

Everyone had a great time and it was so much fun to work with all the smiling faces of St. Claire! A special thanks goes out to Dianna Bentley for asking me to be a part of that special event!

Chickie Monkies Valentines Photos

I had a blast at Chickie Monkies last Saturday morning as we offered free Valentine's Day photos to children. We had a good turnout and the kids all got gift bags and there were delicious refreshments to munch on! We've already decided to do this again for Easter.

If you came and got your child's photo taken the pictures are in and will be available for pick up at Chickie Monkies as of today. I will also be posting a website where you can order additional prints at a great discount. Thanks again to all the families for coming out and visiting with us! We did it at Christmas with Santa and now we're doing it again for Valentines Day!

I'm getting together with one of my favorite local businesses, Chickie Monkies (clothing store for kids), to offer FREE Valentine's Day photos for children.

25 Random things about Chrissy Perkins

1. I broke a girl's jaw with a round house kick in an international karate competition and ended up with a 3rd place finish.

2. I have dabbled in just about every form of art since I was old enough to hold crayons. I even have a few sculptures floating around.

3. I HATE those little seeds in tomatoes. If I get one of those slimmey things on a sandwich, its ruined. However, I can drink salsa like its no one's business.

4. If I won the lottery the first thing I'd do is buy a fabulous piano, tons of sheet music and do nothing but play piano for a month straight.

5. I have traveled to Denmark, Sweden, England, and Amsterdam. I have so many more places to visit.

6. I never dreamed I'd be living in Morehead at age 30.

7. If you had asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, at age 9 I would have told you "to be a writer and photographer for National Geographic."

8. I love to write. I use to write poetry for breakfast. I will publish a book (not poetry) before I die.

9. All my best friends live in other states/countries except for one.

10. If I could spend my summer mountain biking on the muddiest trails I'd be one happy girl.

11. I use to rollerblade miles and miles at Cave Run Lake and then I would lay on a mini boat dock and sleep under the sun on the rocking waves. Luckily, no one ever bothered me in this public place.

12. I co-founded a non-profit organi_ation called Jump Start in Pensacola, Fl for women offenders to help them get their life back and to move forward in a positive direction. It continues to grow today.

13. The letter wxy_ does not work on my laptop. So, I use a "_" to show where it should be but isn't. Or I simply use a synonym without a "_".

14. I'm terrified of marriage.

15. I took up kayaking last year and fell in love. I cannot wait for the Spring flooding.

16. I have an Irish Wolfhound named Brownie, a Great Dane named Sassy, a Pekingese named Ruffina and a yellow cat named Chexter Bo Bexter. We also have 9 fish who barely survived the electrical outage.

17. I spent 2 years working towards becoming a doctor, one semester towards being a physical therapist, one semester an exchange student in Pensacola, Fl and 2 semesters pulled out an Advertising/Public Relations degree. However, I make my living from something I've never had any education in.

18. I am working towards creating a non-profit revolving around children.

19. I've always been a working stay at home mom, but always fret he doesn't get near enough quality time from me.

20. I have an unbelievably bad memory. I cannot recall much of my own history.

21. I'm a beer snob, but love any kind of wine (except for Boone's).

22. I didn't have television for 10 years, had it for a year and am back to not having it again.

23. My best friend is Danish and I miss her every single day.

24. I love ice cream, sunshine, and cooking. In that order :)

Happy New Year 2009!

Well, it wasn't the most adventuresome NYE that I've ever had, but it was a lethargic one. I finally got all house chores caught up and devoted the day to Mason. We made clay figurines (me and Mason made frogs, Nick made burrito baby Mason in a crib--I was quite impressed for his first go at the art thing). We built a garbage truck out of a million pieces for Mason and I started on putting his newest artist stand together (didn't quite figure it out--yet). Nick started going downhill pretty early, so we all piled into our bed and Mason and I played Mario on the DS until about 15 minutes til the big midnight and we had our own countdown (a dab early) and wished each other a Happy New Year and Nick was snoring before we could blink. All in all, it was a great NYE and there is something about spending the holidays with your family that fills your heart with contentment and love.

So, whatever you did for your NYE, whether it was an adventure or not, I hope you felt contentment and love bringing in 2009!

in store for 2009. Stay tuned as I reveal new products, a new online ordering

Chickie Monkies Clothing Store ( NOW OPEN)

Chickie Monkies Clothing Store has officially opened with a bang!

Chickie Monkies is a children's clothing store that is located in downtown Morehead, Ky next to Papa John's Pizza & Chris's Guitar Shop. They have a wide variety of sizes including diaper bags, accessories and children's jewelry. The store is decorated in a jungle theme and there are tv's throughout the store playing kid friendly cartoons.

Chickie Monkies asked me to provide wall decoration with samples of my work. There are various poster sized portraits of children throughout the store that were donated by yours truly. All the kids in the photos belong to either the owner, manager or their family's. Here are a few of the photos you'll see on their wall:
