A quick escape.

Me and Nick are heading out to my dad's cabin at a private lake called Lake Lewman. Lake Lewman was man made and oddly enough both my and Nick's grandfathers had connections to its creation. It is about a 25 minute drive and to be so close, you can't imagine how far from the world you feel. My family has always had a cabin there and this current cabin is dad's 3rd, not counting the one he grew up with. I grew up on this lake as my son is and it feels good to create memories with him at Lake Lewman. Its an incredible lake with only about 40 cabins around it and at any given time probably only 5 or so cabins are inhabited. So, its VERY VERY peaceful. I've not had the opportunity to visit this year, so I am terribly excited as I wrap up a few last minute details for our spontaneous getaway.

I'll be taking my new 40D to catch some shots of this wonderful place and I hope to share those photos with you here in my blog upon our return. Hmmm, this might be a good location for our wedding one of these days. I'll have to keep that in mind :)

See ya in a few days!

June = Weddings

As we all know, June is a super popular month for weddings. I've been eagerly preparing for the busy season that lay ahead.

June Wedding Spotlight
I recently did engagement photos for one of my booked weddings. Heather and Matt are getting married this month and are having a picturesque outdoor wedding. I do love to shoot an outdoor wedding!

Heather and Matt were just great to work with during their engagement session and I'm eagerly anticipating sharing in their special day. Below are some shots of their session. Stay tuned for updates from their beautiful wedding day! Congrats guys! See you in few more weeks!

New additions to the equipment list.

I am so happy to report that I finally upgraded my camera from a Canon 20D to the Canon 40D. I think I'll keep the ole 20D around as a backup, besides I've only had the fella for about 2.5 years, so he should still have some years under his belt.

I also upgraded my flash systems as I've been pulling my hair out the last few weeks with crimped cords. I am now completely wireless with a Pocket Wizard Plus II. I can now move from any corner of my studio to the other without fear of tripping over my flash cord. It was $400 and now that I have made the switch, I probably would have paid double for the freedom its given me!
